Creative Writing: Exercise One

So our upcoming project is a Novel and so for this as a class we decided to do creative writing exercise, either a prose or poetry on emotion, I chose to do a prose on the subject of loneliness.

Loneliness

He stood there alone, on a edge of a cliff making a decision to go forward or come back. Unable to make that decision, he recalls his life. He had loving parents, they cared for him and gave him all that they could, remembering this he took a step back. He the remembered that with that love came overbearing expectations and harshness of alienation that other people did not got, he took a step forward. This time he thought about remembering his friends, they were nice people, cared for him looked out for one and had a merry time. He took a step back once again but then he started remembering the fights, the distance that they sometimes had even though they are still good friends, they are worlds apart from each other and so he moved forward to the cliff. He then decided to remember his accomplishments. He had talent a lot of it, he was even proud of it even, he decided to move back hoping he could achieve something but 20 years had passed and not a single work reached the people he wanted to and so he moved forward. All of this dilly dallying back and forth ultimately lead him to slip and he clung at the end of the cliff. In act of desperation, he called out but ultimately…no one came....at the time he truly understood what he had truly lost but now it was too late. What he felt at the end can only be described cold which is ironic because it was hot sunny afternoon. I wonder what that cold was?
