Chapbook:Planning
In today's post I will be planning my chapbook out and laying out details and direction where I am headed.
Planning Questionnaire
Q.How many pages will it be?
A.Roughly 15 to 20 pages
Q.What format will it take?
A.It is going to be a narrative chapbook with both proses and poetry.
Q.Will you add images?
A.Maybe
Q.What is your final idea? Please explain in two sentences the theme and the form your writing will take.
A. The narrative of the chapbook is a coming of age story about two lads growing up in the UK and ultimately them facing the reality of growing up. It will have multiple separate semi disconnected stories which are the proses and one big poem about the boys growing up.
Q.Considering the form, how do you intend to layout your book pages?
A.Majority of the book is going to be text but if I do decide to incorporate images, they would be in the style of a light novel.
Q.Are you going to use images? Are these your own images (illustrations/photographs) or copyright free images that you will source?
A.Maybe, if I do I will most likely use copyright free images since I can not draw illustrations and taking photographs for this project would take a considerable time.
Q.What is the plan of your time and how much you will need to spend on this?
A.1 week.
Q.What do you imagine the final book will look like?
A.Like a small novella or a chapbook.
Q.Have you considered the cover page/contents page/back cover with blurb?
A.I have an idea for the cover. A silhouette of two men walking into the sunset while a two silhouettes of young boys are rough housing. The back cover will have a blurb of the story.
Q.Drafting and redrafting will need to be done? Who would you get to proofread your work?
A.Yes it would be. I would get my peers to review my work and help me proof read this.
