Urban Landscapes: Aurum Et Verum (Reflection)

The name Aurum et Verum, which means "Gold and Truth" in Latin, I was aiming to capture the true essence of the city through my photos. By showcasing the contrast between the old and new areas, I was hoping to convey the unique character and rich history of the city Leicester.

Undertaking a photo shoot like this was undoubtedly tough and I learnt a great deal about storytelling through photography. Capturing the old and new sides of the city requires careful planning and an understanding of the area's history and culture. By juxtaposing these two elements, I was able to create a compelling narrative that would inspire viewers to appreciate the city's beauty and complexity.

I chose specifically to add the monotone filter on photos that represented gold and a natural non edited pictures for the photos that represented truth to signify the hypocrisy and the reality of the theme.

Overall, my approach to the photo shoot was not to simply aim to create aesthetically pleasing images but rather to tell a story through my photos. By doing so, I may have helped viewers gain a deeper appreciation for the city's history and culture and perhaps inspired them to explore it further.

Attached below is the curation, I have also provided a link to it on my website as well;

At the end I got to learn many new things and how to conduct a photoshoot with a specific curation and idea in mind had an amazing experience, I hope to do this again someday.
