Sample page Chapbook:Writing exercise

So in class in order to practice we did another writing exercise  but  this time we did either a page from chapbook, either a full poem or a page of your writing. I decided to do the writing, so here is a sample page from my chapbook:

--------------------------------------------------------

It is 8 am! The alarm bell rings and with that, the young Calum pops off from his start spangled bed. He makes a b-line downstairs from his room, the sound of him rummaging can be heard even from downstairs.

Mr Andrews, who is aloofly reading the newspaper, looks up and turns to his wife who is cooking.

“Looks like your little sprogs up.”

Mrs Andrew, holding a plate of a full English, comes up to her husband, kisses him on the cheek and set’s the plate Infront of him.

“He’s yours too you know” she said with voice, soft and caring.

“Yeah yeah.” He says, as he avoids the notion of agreeing.

“Mummy! Daddy! Hello” Calum beams into the kitchen.

“Hello to you to my child and very happy birthday!” Mrs Andrews says as she approaches her child and bends down to rustle his hair.

His face is a wide sun reaching smile.

“Happy birthday scamp” Mr Andrew says from his unmoving place.

“Thank you, Pappy.”

Calum looks around the room curiously, as if he’s expecting something on the table or the kitchen stove.

“Soooooo” Calum trails off as he is looking.

“Your birthday pancakes will be done when you’re done brushing your teeth, taken a shower and you’re all dressed up. Now go mister and I better not see you down until you’re done.” Mrs Andrews lays the law down.

“Ooop” Calum says as he puts his hand on his mouth and rushes back up.

“Kids these days, I tell you. They always rushing and bumping, I swear that kid come in with more scratches when comes back then a traffic accident on the bloody A5.” Mr Andrews remarks with exhaustion.

I hope you look forward for more.
