Podcast: Technical Research

After finalizing and researching my Podcast topic and theme, it is time to so Technical research on how I am going to approach the project in a practical sense.

I decided to divide this based on different elements of production:

Preproduction:

In this stage, I decided on the style, format, and guest for the podcast. The interview format allows me to create conversations between me and my  guest, which will allow for a more engaging and personal experience for the audience. Additionally, taking notes and creating a list of questions for the guest will help guide the conversation and ensure that I cover all the necessary topics.

Production:

For recording, I have chosen Audacity as my software, which is a popular choice for many podcasters due to its ease of use and functionality.  I also will rent out the appropriate hardware, including 2 XLR microphones, an audio interface, and mic stands, to ensure high-quality sound recording. By recording in my room, I am providing a comfortable environment for my guest, which can help them relax and open up during the interview. I decided and made an educated opinion on the choice of hardware after going through the Podcastage YouTube channel and AV loans service. Podcastage offers may beginner tutorials on how to make a podcast, after looking at the hardware in DMU AV loans section and looking at the reviews Podcastage gave of those Hardware, I chose AKG C214 microphones for recording and Scarlet 2i2 Audio interface.

Post Production:

After recording, you will use Audacity to edit and master the audio. This process may include removing any background noise, adjusting volume levels, and adding music or sound effects if necessary. If you need to make any additional edits or add visual elements, you can use Adobe Premiere Pro. Once the podcast is complete, you will publish it on Soundcloud and embed it on your website.

At the end of it all my goal is that choosing the appropriate software and hardware, and taking the necessary steps in pre-production, production, and post-production, I will be able to create a high-quality podcast that engages and informs my audience on the effects on hobbies after a shift in where the person is.

I also decided on a name for the podcast: Cultural translations. I hope you look forward to it.
